Ventura attempted murder suspect arrested

VENTURA, Calif.

Police arrested Jesus Bernal, 28, for allegedly shooting at Jose Orozco, 34, last Friday. According to investigators, the two men were involved in a confrontation at the liquor store over the sale of a personal item.

During the argument, Orozco took back the item and returned to his home. Half an hour later, Bernal allegedly drove to Orozco's home and fired a shot toward Orozco as he was standing in his driveway. Bernal missed and struck the garage instead, police said.

On Sunday, Orozco located Bernal near Dakota Drive and North Ventura Avenue, so he notified police. Bernal was arrested and taken to Ventura County Jail where he was booked for attempted murder.
