Occupy Los Angeles protest at City Hall cost taxpayers $4M

August 8, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
The Occupy Los Angeles protest at City Hall cost taxpayers more than $4 million, the City Council's budget committee was told on Monday.

The biggest chunk came from police and park personnel overtime during the two-month anti-Wall Street demonstration last fall.

Around 1,400 police officers helped evict the protesters on Dec. 1.

It took about $1 million to clean the park and repair its damaged lawn.
