David Duchovny is not dating his former "X-Files" co-star Gillian Anderson, according to the actor's rep.
"Not true," Duchovny's rep told OnTheRedCarpet.com on August 9, in response to reports. Celebrity Dirty Laundry claimed on Wednesday that Anderson split from her longtime boyfriend Mark Griffiths and is living with Duchovny in Los Angeles.
"David and Gillian have been in a serious relationship for some time now and she and her children are shacking up with the 'Californication' actor," the report read.
It was revealed on August 7, that Anderson and Griffiths had split up after dating for six years. The pair have two sons together - Oscar, 5, and Felix, 3.
Anderson has been married twice before, to art director Clyde Kotz, with whom she had 17-year-old daughter Piper, until their divorce in 1997 and to documentarian Julian Ozanne, who she was married to for two years, before parting ways in 2006.
In June 2011, Duchovny separated from Tea Leoni, his wife of 14 years. The couple had been married since 1997 and have two children, daughter Madelaine, 13, and son Kyd, 10.
Duchovny and Leoni, 46, separated briefly in 2008, shortly after the actor checked himself into rehab for sex addiction. Duchovny completed treatment in October 2008 and the couple reconciled in 2009.
It was announced in February, that David Duchovny's show, "Californication," had been renewed for a sixth season. The series follows pleasure-seeking novelist Hank Moody in his complicated life that's plagued by his past and poor decisions. "Californication" has won two Emmys for Best Cinematography.
Duchovny, who played Agent Fox Mulder on "The X-Files" from 1993 to 2002, won a Golden Globe award for his role on the series in 1997 and won the Award for his work on "Californication" in 2008. Anderson, who played Dana Scully, won a Golden Globe for her role on the series in 1997.
