The guardianship over one of Michael Jackson's children has taken a strange turn.

Billie Jean Jackson, a woman who claims to be the biological mother of Prince Michael Jackson II, otherwise known as Blanket Jackson, filed a petition on August 8 to get his guardianship.

According to documents obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com, Billie Jean claims that it would be in Blanket's best interest to live with her.

"I will give him the love and guidance that he needs," she says. "I feel that among the siblings, they are fighting over money and want custody solely for the money. I do not feel that this is a stable environment for the children. I am worried about Prince Michael's safety."

Blanket, his sister Paris and older brother Prince, recently found themselves in the middle of a family dispute. Their grandmother and guardian, Katherine, flew to Arizona last month to visit family. Her nephew reported her missing and Paris ranted about her absence, which appeared to be unprecedented, on her Twitter page, which is followed by more than 809,000 people.

The children's cousin, TJ, was then made the children's temporary guardian. Katherine returned to Los Angeles, where she lives with the kids, after 10 days and she and TJ settled the custody matter in court. Katherine was reinstated as guardian and TJ was made a temporary co-guardian.

The judge presiding over the guardianship case has scheduled a hearing date on September 26 to hear Billie Jean Jackson's arguments. She has made several attempts to claim publicly she is Blanket's mother, but none have been successful.

The court has turn down her requests for DNA tests to prove she is Blanket's mother as well as requests for visitations with Blanket.

In 2008, Billie Jean Jackson was arrested for trespassing at the Neverland Ranch. There are several errors in her filing, including listing Blanket's birth date as Dec. 27, 1947. Blanket was born in 2002 and Michael Jackson was born in 1958.

It's unclear what Billie Jean Jackson's legal name is as her name is similar to one of Michael Jackson biggest hits. "Billie Jean" was released in 1983 and is about a woman who claimed he was the father of her child.

She is also asking the judge to hear her pleading on August 22, the same day TJ Jackson is scheduled to be made permanent co-guardian of the children. Billie Jean Jackson claimed in court documents she was not present during the guardianship hearings on August 2 because she was "destitute" and "trying to get an apartment."

Billie Jean Jackson also claims Katherine Jackson has a protective order against her in place, and she plans to request the court to dismiss it on Blanket's behalf. She claims she will produce a birth certificate on August 22, proving she's Blanket's mother.

Jackson died at age 50 in June 2009 from an accidental overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other medications in his rented Los Angeles mansion.
