Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her life with boyfriend Brandon Blackstock and took on Eminem's "Lose Yourself" during a recent concert in Detroit.
Clarkson, 30, has been dating Blackstock, a 35-year-old Nashville-based talent manager, since late 2011 and told People magazine recently, "I'm just super happy right now."
"One of my favorite things is we're both in the business," the first "American Idol" winner said. "He gets my job and he gets how busy it can get, and he gets the sacrifices that we both have to make with our jobs."
The couple also has a German Shepherd puppy together named Bear.
"We're very super real ? like, what you see is what you get," she added. "So I don't think we're cool enough to have something super surprising [about us]."
Clarkson, who is currently on tour, stopped in rapper Eminem's hometown of Detroit on Friday, August 10. While she was there, she honored a few fans who requested that she perform the rapper's hit song "Lose Yourself" from the "8 Mile" film soundtrack.
Clarkson admits before getting ready to perform that she had to borrow a girlfriend's hooded sweatshirt for the performance, which can be seen below.
"When you listen to him on the radio and sing along in your car, you're a lot more badass than you actually are," Clarkson joked. "Because when you get alone without Eminem doing it with you, it's not as good."
Clarkson added, "I went from Texas to thug y'all! Texas to thug. If this sucks you better still come to my shows."
The Texas native is not the first female pop artist to take on the song live during a concert. Taylor Swift performed the song during one of her concerts last August.
