Three major singers in pop entertainment will be seen on talent competitions this season and "The Voice" coach Christina Aguilera had a few kind words to say about her fellow pop singer and former "Mickey Mouse Club" co-star Britney Spears joining "The X Factor."
Aguilera spoke at a press conference for the new season of "The Voice" on August 10. Aguilera said when asked about Spears according to People magazine, "I came up with Britney, we were very close. Our paths have always crossed. They'll continue to cross. I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent."
The 31-year-old singer later added, "Britney's a pro. She's going to give great advice!"
Spears signed on to be a judge on "The X Factor," along with Demi Lovato, in May. In July, pop legend Mariah Carey was announced as a judge on "American Idol" for season 12.
Aguilera and Spears starred on "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" in the early 90s along with now-famous actors and singers like Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Ryan Gosling and Kerri Russell.
Aguilera also judged her former "Mickey Mouse Club" co-star Tony Lucca on "The Voice" last season and the two got into a bit of a snarky exchange toward the end of the season.
"The Voice" has upped its star power for its third season. In addition to coaches Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton, the show has added on mentors like Mary J. Blige, Matchbox 20 singer Rob Thomas, Green Day singer Joe Armstrong and crooner Michael Buble.
Season 3 of "The Voice" is set to premiere on September 10 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
