Katy Perry sports a glamorous and mature look for the September 2012 cover of ELLE magazine and opened up to the outlet about her love life.
The 27-year-old starlet has recently been linked romantically to singer John Mayer, although the two have not confirmed a relationship. Perry split from ex-husband Russell Brand late last year.
"I obviously have a lot to say right now," Perry told ELLE. "I'm a woman who likes to be courted - strongly. Never say never, I guess you'd say. I'll let love take the lead on that."
The pop singer, who appears on the cover in a pink sequined dress and purple locks, went on to dish about her tough position as a role model to teens and young adults.
"I have no regrets," she said. "I'm not going to be everything to everyone. I can't tell a person when it's time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette...But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message."
The performer started her career as a gospel rock singer in 2001 and often catches flack from religious groups for her current wardrobe choices and suggestive song lyrics.
The candy queen made headlines when she and Mayer were spotted together leaving Chateau Marmont on Wednesday, August 1, in Los Angeles in a photo carried by People magazine.
The report claims that the two had a dinner date at the famed hotel and an unnamed source told the magazine that the two have gone out a few times.
On August 13, the two were photographed together again, this time leaving a house party in the Los Feliz part of Los Angeles, as seen in a picture on ABC News. Perry wore a red sun dress, while Mayer donned casual button up with jeans. According to the website, the pair left in Mayer's car.
In April, the singer was linked to Robert Ackroyd, guitarist for the band Florence + the Machine. The two reportedly stopped seeing each other in May.
Perry is an eight-time Grammy Award nominee, having made two successful studio albums and having sold 74.6 million digital tracks worldwide. Recently, Perry also released her first film, a 3D concert movie called "Part of Me," in theaters.
