Jenny McCarthy appears to be a single woman once again, as her brief romance with an NFL athlete has fizzled.
The 39-year-old said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com on Thursday, August 16, that she and Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, 34, have called it quits.
"Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship," McCarthy said. "I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!"
McCarthy confirmed to reporters at the Generation Rescue autism charity event on May 24 that the pair were in fact dating. The TV host, who rose to fame with the MTV 1990s series "Singled Out," and Playboy model was first linked romantically to the NFL star in April, when they were spotted dining in a Los Angeles restaurant together.
Urlacher also attended the event for Jenny McCarthy's organization, a group inspired by the actress' 10-year-old son Evan. Urlacher has two daughters and a son from previous relationships.
In November 2011, McCarthy said in an interview on "Access Hollywood," that she was looking for a sweet man who has a job and she doesn't care if they have a big nose or are bald. McCartney also cited her Chicago upbringing and said "it's tough to find a man's man" in Los Angeles, where she lives.
McCarthy famously dated Jim Carrey for about five years before they announced their split in April 2010. In 2011, she dated sports agent Paul Krepelka for several months.
