Wynonna Judd's husband, Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser, has lost his leg following his motorcycle crash in South Dakota on August 19.
A representative for Judd wrote on the singer's official Facebook page that Moser's left leg was "severed at the scene of the accident." Doctors have amputated his leg above his knee. Moser, who is a drummer in Judd's band, has also had surgery on his hand.
"Judd and Moser appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans," the statement concluded.
The 55-year-old was riding his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 16 in Black Hills when he crossed the center line and hit a car. Moser was then airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital.
At the time of the accident, Judd was riding ahead of her husband and was not involved in the crash. Moser was later cited for crossing the center line and not having a license to operate a motorcycle.
Shortly after the accident made headlines, a spokesperson for Judd released an official statement about the accident on her official Facebook page.
"Moser and Judd went for a ride together on separate bikes before her scheduled concert in Deadwood, SD yesterday. Moser collided with an oncoming vehicle and was transported to a local hospital," the statement said. "He is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Wynonna was not involved in the accident."
Judd announced on her website that she had to cancel her August 18 show at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel & Casino.
Judd was seen posing on a motorcycle in a photo posted on her official Facebook page posted earlier that day.
"The boss is out riding," the caption for the photo said. "I hope she makes it back before the show! :) TO."
Judd, 48, and Moser wed on her farm in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee on June 10. It is the third marriage for Judd.
The couple got engaged on Christmas Eve last year and have been dating since 2009. Judd and Moser, whose real name is Michael Scott Moser, were touring together as Wynonna and The Big Noise throughout the summer. He has also played with the country group Highway 101.
Judd's children, Elijah, 17, and Grace, 16, attended her wedding. Their father is the singer's first husband, yacht businessman Arch Kelly III. The two were married for about two years and she filed for divorce in 1998. Judd was also married to D.R. Roach for four years. They divorced in 2007.
