Jurupa Valley high school removes coach amid hazing allegations

JURUPA VALLEY, Calif.

Jurupa Valley Patriot High School apparently is replacing Scott Pearne for the remainder of the season, but he will continue teaching.

Pearne said the incident involved students hazing other students. Sheriff's deputies investigated and interviewed more than 20 students, but no criminal activity was found. Allegations of the hazing were brought to the district's attention last Monday.

The decision to replace Pearne isn't official until the next board meeting on Sept. 4. The school district did not returned calls for a comment.
