John Mayer recently traded in his long, floppy locks for a short 'do, days after it was reported he and fellow singer Katy Perry had called it quits.
Mayer, 34, was seen sporting the new look on Saturday at the West Hollywood hotel The Mondrian's SkyBar club, which had hosted a party celebrating "The Office" alum Mindy Kalling's new FOX comedy series, "The Mindy Project." The singer and the actress posed for pictures, including one that was posted by People magazine.Kalling later joked about his haircut, Tweeting: "Renaming my show "John's Nice Haircut."
Mayer had his locks chopped off on Friday at the Sally Hershberger salon in Los Angeles by Hershberger herself, People reported. The singer had sported shoulder-length, Johnny Depp-like hair for more than a year.
Perry, 27, and Mayer have not commented about their reported split, which made headlines last week, and had also not confirmed to the press whether or not they were dating. They sparked romance rumors in mid-June and have been photographed and spotted together several times since then, including in a vehicle and in a pool.
At the party on Saturday, Mayer was also photographed with Kalling's friend and "Office" co-star, B.J. Novak and actress Ali Larter and her husband, comedian Hayes MacArthur. Kalling and Novak are also comedians, while Mayer dabbled in standup comedy back in 2011.
