Rosie O'Donnell, who recently suffered a heart attack, has revealed that she and her fiancee Michelle Rounds married in secret more than two months ago.
The two became engaged in December 2011. They wed in a private ceremony on June 9, People magazine reported. O'Donnell, 50, had said on August 3 that their wedding plans had been postponed because Rounds was diagnosed with Desmoid tumors. She had surgery in June.
"We married in private / before her surgery / just the 2 of us (sic)," O'Donnell said on her blog on Monday, August 27, referring to Rounds, 41, as her wife."
Almost two weeks ago, O'Donnell was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. The comedienne had also revealed this on her blog, last week.
"We were to wed 10 days ago / but her illness forced us to postpone the wedding / luckily - as i was in ICU that day," she said in her latest post.
"When we r both well enough / will have the wedding of r dreams / surrounded by those we cherish thankful for the love and support. So many have given us / during these trying times (sic)," O'Donnell added.
She had said in January that she and her partner were looking to add a baby to their family. She told trying to have a baby together Dr. Oz on her short-lived OWN talk series "The Rosie Show," that Rounds was "trying to get pregnant."
Rounds is a corporate head hunter in New York and has no children of her own. O'Donnell was previously married to long-time partner Kelli Carpenter from 2004 to 2007. The couple adopted three children: Sons Parker and Blake and daughter Chelsea. Carpenter also gave birth to a daughter named Vivienne Rose in 2002.
O'Donnell also offered an update about her own health on her blog.
"I have been painting a lot / since my heart attack / 2 weeks ago," she said. "Those paintings r for sale / starting today we will try e bay auctions / see how it goes / all money made will be matched by me / and donated to DTRF.ORG."
DTRF stands for the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation. O'Donnell and Rounds are participating in the annual DTRF Running for Answers 5K, set to be held in Philadelphia on October 21. The comedienne is promoting the event and Rounds' fundraising page on her Twitter account. More than $9,700 has been raised for far.
