Wynonna Judd is heading back on tour after her husband, Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser, had to have his left leg amputated after a motorcycle crash and recently updated fans on her Facebook page on Moser's condition.
"We continue to feel loved and supported by the outpouring of messages from people around the world. Cactus continues to improve every day as he begins his road to rehabilitation," Judd said in a statement posted on her Facebook page on Tuesday, August 28. "We are looking forward to the day when we will be back together on stage again and I believe we will be stronger than ever."
She added, "Until then I will be out on the road with the rest of the band while I wait lovingly and patiently for my husband to return to The Big Noise."
Moser, who was a drummer in Judd's band, was in a motorcycle accident on August 18 in South Dakota. The 55-year-old was riding his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 16 in Black Hills when he crossed the center line and hit a car. Moser was then airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital.
At the time of the accident, Judd was riding ahead of her husband and was not involved in the crash. Moser's leg was severed at the scene of the accident and doctors amputated his left leg above his knee. He also had surgery on his hand.
Instead of gifts, the couple is asking people to donate in Moser's name to Homes For Our Troops. The organization helps members of the military with serious disabilities.
Judd said she will resume her tour on Thursday, August 30 at Leelanau Sands Casino in Peshawbestwon, Michigan. She has also rescheduled the show she initially postponed due to the accident.
Judd, 48, and Moser wed on her farm in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee on June 10. It is the third marriage for Judd.
The couple got engaged on Christmas Eve last year and have been dating since 2009. Judd and Moser, whose real name is Michael Scott Moser, were touring together as Wynonna and The Big Noise throughout the summer. He has also played with the country group Highway 101.
Judd's children, Elijah, 17, and Grace, 16, attended her wedding. Their father is the singer's first husband, yacht businessman Arch Kelly III. The two were married for about two years and she filed for divorce in 1998. Judd was also married to D.R. Roach for four years. They divorced in 2007.
