Shawn Ashmore of "X-Men" fame is a married man - it has been revealed that he married his girlfriend Dana Renee Wasdin last month in Los Angeles.
Ashmore, 32, confirmed the news on his Twitter page following a report by ET Canada, which said he and Wasdin, an executive at Darkwoods Productions and co-producer of LA Noir, wed on July 27 in at the SmogShoppe venue in the California city.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, August 29, the day Ashmore's latest movie, the sci-fi flick "The Day," hit theaters. The Canadian actor's new wife also took to Twitter to express her excitement, and even posted a photo of the newlyweds on Instagram (See above).
"@shawnrashmore you make me so very happy!" she Tweeted on August 25.
The couple met on the set of "Frozen," a 2010 thriller film that starred Ashmore. Wasdin was an assistant director on the project. Ashmore had Tweeted cryptically on July 28, a day after their wedding: "Thank you to everyone sending Dana and I well wishes!!! We couldn't be happier:)
The actor announced his engagement to Wasdin last year.
"I just got down on my knee on the couch in our living room and just proposed and she was shocked and she obviously said 'Yes' and it was amazing!" Ashmore told ET Canada.
Ashmore is known for playing Bobby Drake, or Iceman, in the first "X-Men" film trilogy. He's also appeared in television shows such as "Breaking Bad" and "The Ruins."
