LeAnn Rimes has entered a treatment facility for anxiety and stress, her rep denied that her client is being treated for an eating disorder or substance abuse.
"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," her rep Marcel Pariseau told People magazine. "While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
Rimes entered the treatment facility on August 29, the day after her 30th birthday.
"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," Rimes told People. "All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much... I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them."
Rimes' husband Eddie Cibrian told the weekly magazine that he supports his wife's decision to seek treatment.
"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," Cibrian said. "I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."
Rimes has been in the spotlight since releasing her first single, a cover of Bill Mack's "Blue," when she was 13 years old. The country singer plans to perform during breaks from treatment, as part of her fall tour gearing up for the release for her upcoming album, "Spitfire."
Rimes and Cibrian, 39, went public with their romance back in 2009 after falling in love on the set of the Lifetime movie, "Northern Lights." At the time, Cibrian was still married to Brandi Glanville while Rimes was married to Dean Sheremet. Rimes and Sheremet divorced in June 2010 while Cibrian and Glanville finalized their divorce in October 2010. Cibrian and Glanville have two sons together, 9-year-old Mason and 5-year-old Jake.
Rimes and Cibrian moved in together in the summer of 2010 and got engaged in December 2010. The two wed on April 22, 2011 in a small ceremony in Malibu, California. They renewed their vows on April 27.
Cibrian appeared on the short lived NBC series "The Playboy Club" and has had roles on "CSI: Miami," "Ugly Betty," "Sunset Beach" and "Third Watch."
Weeks after their wedding, Rimes posted photos of herself in bikinis and raised concern among many that she may have lost too much weight.
Rimes has often defended her body and diet, especially on her Twitter account, which she often updates several times an hour and uses to chat with fans and critics.
