Taylor Swift premiered the quirky new music video for her newest single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" on August 30.
In the music video, Swift is shown in her bedroom wearing pajamas, recounting the turbulent relationship between her and an ex-boyfriend. The video follows several arguments and interactions between the pair and in several scenes, Swift is shown having a party with her band mates, who are dressed as woodland creatures.
The 22-year-old singer told MTV that her male co-star is model and aspiring actor Noah Mills, who was in an acting class with a friend of hers.
Swift debuted "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" on August 13 and joked that it is "a really romantic song" about her "lovely ex-boyfriend." She did not reveal which ex-boyfriend inspired the song, but told MTV that it was someone she had broken up with about five times.
"The cool thing about the video was we did it all in one take," Swift told MTV after the world premiere of her new music video, which was directed by Declan Whitebloom, who also helmed Swift's videos for "Mean" and "Ours."
During the course of the video, which is being called the "first-ever true 4G music video," Swift changes outfits five times. She told MTV that her outfits were held together with Velcro to allow for the instant costume changes.
Earlier in the month, Swift announced that her next album will be named "Red" and is slated for release on October 22, 2012. Her most recent and third studio album, "Speak Now," has sold at least 4 million copies in the United States.
Swift and her current rumored boyfriend, 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, have been linked together since at least late July. The two have not confirmed a relationship but were recently pictured together and in one photo, featured in People magazine, Kennedy could been seen with his hand clasped around Swift's waist.
Swift, who grew up in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and Nashville, Tennessee, was recently named at the top of Forbes' list of Highest Paid Stars Under 30. The singer earned $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012 to help her land at the top spot.
