OTRC: 2012 MTV Video Music Awards: Full list of winners

One Direction made a huge debut at the 2012 Video Music Awards on Thursday, September 6. The boy band from Europe not only performed for the first time on the VMA stage but also walked away with three awards for the night including Best New Artist.

The band also won the first award given out for the night, Best Pop Video and also won a moonman for Most Share-Worthy Video during the pre-awards show.

The band was first put together by Simon Cowell following auditions for the UK version of "The X Factor." They sang their single "One Thing" live as members of the women's U.S. gymnastics team was seen singing along in the audience.

"We've grown up watching this show and to even be here is an honor," band member Niall Horan said.

Other big winners for the night included Rihanna for Video of the Year for "We Found Love," Chris Brown's win in the Best Male Video category for "Turn Up The Music" and Drake's win for Best Hip-Hop video for "HYFR."

Host and comedian Kevin Hart poked fun at the feud between Brown and Drake over a bottle-throwing incident at a New York City nightclub. Hart claimed it was all a misunderstanding.

Hart said, "Nip it in the bud, guys. I'm tired of it. Fix it tonight."

Amber Rose and fiance Wiz Khalifa confirmed they are expecting their first child together. When asked by co-presenter Ke$ha about when the baby was due, Khalifa said, "In 'bout six months. You guys gotta wait. It's going to be bigger than the moonman."
