The parade began at Mednik Avenue, rolling down Cesar Chavez Avenue right through the heart of East Los Angeles, all the way to Gage Avenue.

Mexican singer and actress Graciela Beltran served as the grand marshal of the event. Others who participated in the event included City Councilman Jose Huizar, Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina and L.A. City controller Wendy Gruel.

ABC7's own Alysha Del Valle and Sid Garcia also rode down the parade route. They both grew up attending the parade with their families, and said it was an honor to participate in the annual event.

Also, the parade festival was just around the corner from where the parade started. It ran along Mednik Avenue from Cesar Chavez Avenue to First Street. There was plenty tasty food and festive activities for parade-goers.
