Atlanta officers cleared in Tyler Perry racial profiling investigation

ATLANTA

As the director explained in a lengthy Facebook post, Perry was stopped in February after admittedly making an illegal left turn.

Perry, who was leaving his studio in southwest Atlanta, said he was questioned by the police officers for about six minutes before being let go.

Although the actor wasn't issued a ticket, Perry described the incident as "hostile" and said that he felt unsafe. He claimed one of the officers continued to "badger him" during questioning.

After a four-month investigation, the Atlanta Police Department reported that Perry's traffic stop was justified and lawful and that no departmental policies or procedures were violated.
