Tara Reid blasted TMZ after the entertainment outlet post a video of her falling off of a moped and called her a "drunken mess."
"Tmz are liars and they always against me they pushed us down that's why we fell why don't u see how we fell? It's a set up," Reid Tweeted on September 11, adding, "Look how it is edited they only should u after they knocked us down in front of our own boat it's so wrong and I will defend us this time 100%."
"That's why I was covering my face I knew I was getting set up so unfair its totally not right and I finally have had it stop picking on me," Reid continued.
In the video, the "American Pie" actress and a friend are shown splayed on the street in St. Tropez, after falling off of a moped.
Several people attempt to help the pair to get up, but they eventually manage on their own. Reid and her friend are shown holding each other for some time before eventually boarding a nearby yacht.
TMZ defended themselves on their TV series TMZ Live, explaining that they were not the photographers who filmed the video and while Reid denied she was drunk in the video, the entertainment outlet cited photos of her wearing the same dress the following morning and lighting a cigarette with a grill lighter as proof that she had imbibed the previous night.
The 36-year-old actress entered a treatment facility in 2008. Reid recently defended her plastic surgery and "party girl" moniker, during an interview with Australian News.
"I don't know why a party girl is a bad thing," Reid said of her "party girl" moniker. "It's about having fun and being happy. Why should we punish that girl? I've never been arrested, I've never been in trouble, I've never done anything bad, so I don't get why that's a bad thing. I like to be happy, and people know that if they're around me, they're going to have fun."
Reid rose to fame as a teen sex symbol in the 1990s. Aside from her part in "American Pie" and its 2001 sequel, she is also known for playing Bunny Lebowski in the 1998 cult comedy movie "The Big Lebowski" and for her role as college journalist Gwen Pearson in the 2002 comedy movie "Van Wilder," which starred Ryan Reynolds.
The actress made headlines in August 2011, when she Tweeted about getting married in Greece to a man named Zack Kehayov. However, Reid later said in October that she was "never really married" to Kehayov. When asked why, she replied that the marriage was "never legal."
Reid most recently appeared in "American Reunion," where she reprised her role as Victoria "Vicky" Lathum.
