OTRC: Kate Middleton gives first speech abroad, in Malaysia

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, gave her first foreign speech in Malaysia on September 13.

The Royal and her husband, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge visited the country during their tour of the South Pacific for the royals' Diamond Jubilee tour.

"William and I are hugely excited to be in Malaysia - this, our first - ever visit - and are absolutely delighted to have been invited to join you all here," Middleton said at the Hospis Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. "I have learned that delivering the best possible palliative care to children is vital. Providing children and their families with a place of support, care and enhancement at a time of great need is simply life-changing."

Middleton visited with many terminally ill children at Hospis Malaysia and told the crowd, "It's been wonderful meeting the patients, the families and all the staff here. You have given us the most wonderful welcome."

Middleton has recently sparked rumors that she is pregnant and was photographed touching her belly several times during her visit to the South Pacific. Check out photos of her and Prince William's tour.

The Royal couple had visited Singapore on September 12 and would continue from Malaysia to the Solomon Islands and the Polynesian island nation of Tuvalu from September 16 through September 18.

William married Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011. It was one of its most popular televised weddings, drawing a global television audience of about 2 billion viewers.

The two wed at Westminster Abbey, the site of Diana's funeral and Queen Elizabeth II's 1947 wedding to Prince Philip.
