'Knock-knock' burglary crew: New surveillance video released

LOS ANGELES

Police released surveillance video and images of the suspects, who targeted a home in the 12000 block of West Sunset Boulevard on Sept. 4.

This is the burglars' method: Crew members knock on the door and if no one answers, they assume no one is home and look for a window or side entrance to get inside. They're not always right about a house being empty. Police say that was the case on Sept. 4.

"When they heard no answer, they proceeded to go around the side, where they were met by the owners. Before the suspects fled, one of the suspect struck the owner in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, and the suspects fled in their vehicle," described LAPD Officer Tenesha Dobine.

The victim is OK. The suspects' vehicle is described as a four-door black Lincoln Continental or Town Car with a partial license plate of 4KK or 4KK3.

Anyone with information is asked to police at (877) LAPD-24-7 that's (877) 527-3247.
