Justin Bieber joked on Twitter that "Milk was a bad choice," after he became ill and vomited on stage while performing in his first concert on his "Believe" tour in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday, September 30.
Videos from the concert, which can be viewed here, show the 18-year-old singer with his back turned away from the audience, hunched over and vomiting on stage during his performance of the song "Out of Town Girl" in front of the sold-out concert at the Jobing.com Arena.
Bieber ran off stage two more times, each time to vomit, according to Us Weekly. He ended up finishing the concert despite his illness.
"Great show. Getting better for tomorrow's show !!!! Love u," he wrote to fans on Twitter with an link to an Instagram photo of himself in bed.
"And .... Milk was a bad choice! Lol," he added in another Tweet, referencing a line from the 2004 film "Anchorman."
"Goodnight Avalanna. Tonight was for u. I love u," he later wrote about Avalanna Routh, a 6-year-old super fan died earlier this week. He also dedicated his song "One Less Lonely Girl" to Avalanna during the concert.
Routh was a Massachusetts native who loved Bieber so much she called herself Mrs. Bieber. She suffered from a fast-growing tumor called an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor, according to The Associated Press. The tumor affects the brain and spinal cord and usually occurs in young children. Only 30 new cases are diagnosed in the U.S. each year.
Bieber met Routh in New York earlier this year and the two spent a couple of hours together. They met several times after that initial meeting.
Bieber's 45-city "Believe" tour continues Sunday, September 30, in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
