Broadway star and former "Private Practice" actress Audra McDonald has tied the knot!
The 42-year-old actress married fiance Will Swenson in Croton-on-Hudson, New York ,on October 6 at their home, her spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press.
McDonald wore a wedding dress designed by Esosa. It is the second marriage for the Tony Award-winning actress, who was previously married to Bassist Peter Donovan. The former couple have an 11-year-old daughter Zoe Madeline together.
Swenson is also a Broadway actor who created the role of Stacee Jaxx in the musical "Rock of Ages" before its move to Broadway. The role was later played by Tom Cruise in the film adaptation. The 38-year-old is the father of two sons, Bridger, 11, and Sawyer, 8.
The couple got engaged while on vacation in Puerto Rico last winter. The couple said in a statement that they look forward to their new life together as husband, wife and "wee posse of three."
The actress also Tweeted about the wedding on October 6, writing to followers, "Well that was just the best day ever.#SadieSadiemarriedlady."
McDonald won her record-tying fifth Tony Award in the revival of "Porgy and Bess." She ties with Angela Lansbury and Julie Harris. McDonald has appeared in television roles in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Bedford Diaries" and "Kidnapped." She is likely best known by television audiences for playing Dr. Naomi Bennett on "Private Practice" for four seasons.
Swenson recently played Tick in "Priscilla Queen of the Desert."
