Lindsay and Dina Lohan got in a physical fight over a $40,000 loan the actress gave to her mother, who claimed she needed it to save her house.

The Nassau County police were called to Lohan's childhood home in Merrick, Long Island on the morning of October 10, after a reported fight between the actress and her mother. No charges were filed and details were not released.

The argument occurred during a limo ride from Manhattan to the Long Island home where Dina, 49, still lives with her other children. Lindsay called her father Michael Lohan from the limo and a voice recording of the conversation was obtained by TMZ.

In the recording, Lohan tells her father that she leant her mother $40,000, which she said was needed to save her house from foreclosure. She also said she had a "gash" on her leg and her diamond bracelet was broken "from what happened." The reported injury was not confirmed by police officers.

"I was like, 'Give me money back! Give me my 40 grand back that I just gave you," Lohan told her father. "I asked her to give it back and she's like, 'You're sick. You don't give me anything. You don't do anything for child support.'"

The 26-year-old actress accused her mother of being high on cocaine and said that she was "saying disgusting things," called her "nuts" and told her that she was "dead" to her.

Michael Lohan told his daughter that she was being "kidnapped" and agreed that Dina was "awful."

Following the dispute and police visit, Lindsay and Dina were seen hugging each other, in pictured obtained by ABC News. Lohan caught a flight to Los Angeles later in the day.

Dina Lohan made headlines last month after slurring words and appearing incoherent in segments of her appearance on the talk show, "Dr. Phil."

Lohan recently finished filming "The Canyons," an indie film written by Bret Easton Ellis. She will appear next in "Liz & Dick," a Lifetime movie based on Elizabeth Taylor's life with Richard Burton.

Lohan has had a difficult visit in New York. The actress was allegedly assaulted in her New York City hotel room by a man she met at a nightclub on September 29.

She was recently hospitalized with a lung infection and in mid-September, the actress was arrested in New York City on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly striking a pedestrian.
