Authorities at a West Texas border checkpoint found a gun, heroin and marijuana in rapper Nelly's tour bus on Wednesday, October 10.
Hudspeth County sheriff's officials told The Associated Press that an initial search turned up small amounts of marijuana and heroin and a loaded gun. A second search revealed a duffel bag with about 10 pounds of pot.
One of the occupants was arrested after admitting the drugs and gun belonged to him. Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes, and five others were later released.
"Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these," Nelly said in a statement to The Associated Press.
The checkpoint near Sierra Blanca is the site where several celebrities have been arrested on drug-related charges. Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and actor Armie Hammer have been arrested on marijuana charges.
Just last month, singer Fiona Apple was arrested for hashish possession and was later released on a $10,000 bond.
The check point inspects thousands of vehicles daily and sends the town thousands of drug cases yearly, according to the wire service.
Nelly announced on Twitter on July 3 that his seventh studio album will be called "M.O." but did not announce a release date.
