A San Diego man was arrested on suspicion of child annoyance in Moorpark Thursday.

Ventura County Sheriff's deputies from the Moorpark Police Department arrested Sergio Rivas, 49, for trying to lure children walking home from school into his vehicle near Poindexter Park.

Later in the investigation, Rivas was linked to earlier reports of a suspect allegedly making sexually suggestive remarks and trying to lure adult females into his car.

According to a statement released by the City of Moorpark Police Department, "Rivas then appeared to engage in similar activity with children who were walking by his vehicle."

When the deputies searched through the suspect's vehicle, they found a red police light and ammunition.

The 49-year-old suspect was booked for child annoyance at the Ventura County Jail. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
