Zumba prostitution case in Maine: 21 john suspect names released

KENNEBUNK, Maine

Zumba instructor Alexis Wright, 29, and her business partner are accused of turning their Latin dance studio in Kennebunk into a brothel. Wright has pleaded not guilty to 106 counts of prostitution, invasion of privacy and several other charges.

The names of 21 of her alleged customers were released Monday. Some were videotaped and all will eventually face misdemeanor charges. Police said Wright kept meticulous records suggesting the sex acts generated $150,000 over 18 months.

A judge ordered the release of names without ages or addresses, so it was not immediately clear their occupations and roles in the community, if any.

Wright's business partner, 57-year-old insurance agent and private investigator Mark Strong Sr., has pleaded not guilty to 59 misdemeanor charges.
