OTRC: Beyonce to perform at 2013 Super Bowl halftime show - report

Beyonce is set to perform at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show on Feb. 3, 2013, a report says.

A spokesperson for the 31-year-old Grammy-winning R&B singer had no immediate comment. The Associated Press reported the news on Tuesday, citing an anonymous source, who also said an official announcement is expected on Wednesday.

UPDATE: Beyonce has confirmed her participation at the 2013 Super Bowl - and has shared a photo - see details.

Beyonce, known for No. 1 hits as "Single Ladies" and "Crazy in Love," sang the national anthem at the 2004 Super Bowl in Houston, Texas - her hometown. Next year's National Football League Championship game will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, marking the first time the city will host the annual event since Hurricane Katrina.

Beyonce recently made a surprise onstage appearance at her husband and hip hop mogul Jay-Z's concert at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on October 6.

Madonna was the main performer at the Super Bowl XLVI football game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots earlier this year, on February 5. Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. joined her for a performance of her then-new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin." Other singers who participated in the halftime show included electro-pop duo LMFAO and R&B singer and "The Voice" co-judge Cee Lo Green.
