The teaser trailer for the 2013 remake of "Carrie" features a town on fire and Chloe Moretz covered in blood.

The teaser trailer for the film, which can be viewed below, hit the web on Monday, October 15, and has a glimpse of Moretz as Carrie White. The film also stars Julianne Moore as Carrie's deeply religious and troubled mother Margaret and Judy Greer as her sympathetic teacher Miss Desjardin.

The film is a remake of the 1976 film and an adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name which was released in 1974. In the original film, Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek starred as Carrie and Piper Laurie played her mother. The film also featured a young John Travolta.

"Carrie" tells the story of a quiet girl named Carrie White from Chamberlain, Maine, who has telekinetic powers. Carrie is the target of bullies at school who pull a prank on her at the school prom by dumping a bucket of pig's blood on her after she is crowned prom queen. As a result, Carrie snaps.

The 2013 "Carrie" will be the third adaptation of the novel. After the 1976 film there was a 2002 television movie of the same name. There was also a sequel called "The Rage: Carrie 2," which was released in 1999 which featured Carrie's half sister. That film was also a commercial and critical failure.

Moretz, 15, initially started out as a child star and is known for roles in "Let Me In," "Kick-Ass," "(500) Days of Summer" and "Hugo." She has also appeared in several episodes of "30 Rock" and co-starred alongside Johnny Depp in "Dark Shadows." She is set to reprise her role as Hit-Girl in "Kick-Ass 2."

According to Yahoo! Movies, Moretz told the crowd at New York Comic Con that she spent weeks covered in blood while filming "Carrie."

"It was probably the most fun [part of filming] for about the first two weeks of it, and then after that it just felt sticky and wet and it was 40 degrees out and freezing," the actress reportedly said.

"Carrie" which was directed by "Boys Don't Cry" director Kimberly Peirce, is set to hit theaters on March 15, 2013. Check out the teaser trailer below.
