Kirstie Alley, who recently survived the latest round of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars," is now dealing with a serious real-life issue - being strong for her ailing Corgi dog, May.
The 61-year-old "Cheers" actress has been Tweeting updates to her 1 million followers about her family's pet, who had undergone a "difficult" surgery for an undisclosed illness.
On Tuesday, she wrote: "Hi y'all!!! Thank you all for your votes and working so hard on our behalf!!!! May I ask one more favor? My dog May needs ... your prayers. She just came out of a difficult surgery 20 minutes ago.. She is my beloved."
Many of Alley's fans reached out to the star, Tweeting positive messages and prayers.
Later that day, she Tweeted: "May came out of the anesthetic well..her vital signs are good..your prayers are working.. we'll just keep going... thank you.. prayer power."
The star also shared a picture of her recovering pooch. (See photo above)
"May thanks you for your prayers...please keep her in your thoughts until she's back to health.. :).. sweet dreams May," she Tweeted.
Later on Wednesday, she wrote: "The May Report: Her vital signs are good..pink gums..sleeping peacefully..recovering as hoped. Not out of the woods yet. prayers working :) Now I can go back to sleep and rest ...you guys are the best.. thank you from May, me and my children."
Alley is currently taking part in the all-star season of "Dancing with the Stars," participating with her season 12 partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
On the Tuesday, October 17 elimination episode, Alley and Chmerkovskiy narrowly scraped through, dodging elimination despite being in jeopardy. The pair received 30 out of 40 points from the judges for their Charleston on the October 16 episode.
Reality star Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas weren't as lucky, however, and were eliminated after receiving 32 out of 40 points from the judges for their Rock and Roll on the series which aired on October 16.
