Anne Hathaway plans to donate the profit made from selling photos from her wedding to support marriage equality.
The 29-year-old actress donated the profits to several causes, including same-sex marriage advocacy group, Freedom to Marry, her rep confirmed to OTRC.com on October 17.
According to the campaign's official website, Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman recently served as honorary hosts for Freedom to Marry's National Engagement Party. The event raised $500,000 for the group's Win More States Fund.
In 2008, Hathaway accepted an award from the Human Rights Campaign for her charity work, and spoke of her family's positive reaction to her older brother Michael coming out as gay.
"When my brother came out, we hugged him, said we loved him, and that was that," Hathaway said in her acceptance speech. "I don't consider myself just an ally to the LGBT community, I consider myself your family."
Hathaway will also give the proceeds to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and The Girl Effect, which provides for poverty-stricken young women.
The "The Dark Knight Rises" actress and 31-year-old Shulman wed on Saturday, September 29, in a ceremony in Big Sur, California.
Hathaway reportedly wore a custom wedding gown made by Valentino. The wedding reportedly had 100 guests who were invited for the weekend, staring off with a rehearsal dinner on Friday, September 28, at the Ventana Inn and Spa, the magazine reports.
Hathaway and Shulman, an actor and jewelry designer, have been dating since 2008 and became engaged in November 2011.
Shulman appeared on the show "American Dreams" in 2005 and in the 2007 television film "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning."
The actress recently filmed the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical "Les Miserables."
