Kristen Stewart did a live interview to promote her new Balenciaga fragrance Florabotanica and joked that she's been a bit too "preoccupied" to learn French.

Stewart sat down with French fashion editor Virginie Mouzat for the interview on October 18 and answered questions submitted online, from fans around the world. The actress had some trouble with some of the abstract questions, but managed to answer them with half an hour to spare.

"It's funny because I'm 22, I've never really, I haven't worn many other fragrances this is the first time I've dealt with that. I think, I mean it think it probably could be it's for me I feel it kind of puts me a step up - it steps up your game a little but I know that sounds weird," Stewart said when asked how the scent made her feel. "It's curious. It's sort of like wow what is that? It doesn't smell like a typical fragrance. It's sort of warm ... it's not flowery. It's got a warmth to it. Not too sweet."

Stewart spoke very highly of Balenciaga creative director Nicola Ghesquiere, who she said has influenced her idea of fashion and helped her to embrace her red carpet duties a bit more.

"I think that I love the way Nicola carries everything. It's felt very personal. I met him on a photo shoot when I was like 14 or 15 so I kind of feel like it started ages ago," Stewart said of the designer. "Fashion can be a really superficial surface level thing. Really about money and image. He creates a show. It's like watching a movie. This is part of the story too. He's very conceptual in the way that he makes his stuff. It's really rare, it's really special."

The actress, who said her favorite flower is a gardenia and described Florabotanica as being "super 'Alice in Wonderland'-y," said that she was really glad that she actually liked the scent.

"Luckily I like the smell of the fragrance so I don't have to lie about that," Stewart joked. "I think everything that Nicola produces, you can't, I feel like it does draw sort of fearless people. There's a fearlessness to it.... One thing about fragrances you can start to smell like an old lady, start to smell fake, like a chemical. I don't get that from this. It's fresh. Fresh and French."

When asked whether she knew how to spoke any French, Stewart said, "It's a goal of mine but I'm so not there yet. I've been a little preoccupied."

Stewart, who became a brand ambassador for Balenciaga in January, said that she wasn't sure what to expect posing for a perfume ad, since they most often show half-naked women in sultry poses. The actress took the challenge to be an "art project."

Stewart recently returned to the red carpet for the premiere of "On The Road" at the Toronto Film Festival, for the first time since photos of her and "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders hit tabloid covers in July. Stewart said in a statement to the press on July 25 that the incident was a "momentary indiscretion."

The upcoming promotion of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" has some outlets buzzing about public appearances she will have to make with Robert Pattinson, but Stewart told the Associated Press that they are "going to be fine" during the promotional tour. It is rumored that the couple has reconciled.

"On The Road" hits theaters on December 21 in the United States. Meanwhile, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will be released on November 16." Watch Kristen Stewart's live interview below.
