OTRC: Danny DeVito on Rhea Perlman split: everything's good

Danny DeVito spoke for the first time since announcing his split from Rhea Perlman, after 30 years of marriage.

The actor was spotted leaving lunch with friends in Malibu, Calif. on October 20 and when asked by a TMZ cameraman if he planned to remain friends with Perlman, DeVito said, "Everything's good man" and offered a thumbs-up gesture as he continued on his way.

The 67-year-old actor's spokesperson confirmed the split to ABCNews.com on Monday, October 8.

DeVito and Perlman, 64, married in January 1982. The couple has three children together - Lucy, 29, Grace, 27 and Jacob Daniel, 25. Lucy DeVito, pictured above with her parents at the premiere of "The Lorax" in February, is also an actress who has a recurring role "Melissa & Joey."

The couple worked together on TV's "Taxi" from 1978 to 1982. The two recently appeared on the red carpet together in late August with daughter Lucy at the premiere of "Sleepwalk With Me" in Los Angeles.

The couple also founded the production company Jersey Films, which produced movies like "Pulp Fiction," "Get Shorty," "Erin Brockovich," "Garden State" and "Freedom Writers."

DeVito and Perlman starred together in the 1996 film "Matilda," which DeVito also directed. The actor currently appears on the FX series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
