Shark discovered at OC golf course tee box

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.

The course marshal found the 2-foot leopard shark last week on the 12th tee box. A large bird likely picked the shark up from the ocean, flew inland and dropped it at the golf course.

The workers quickly put the shark in some water with a bit of salt and took it back to the ocean while it was still alive.

They released the shark at Dana Point, which is about four or five miles from the golf course, which gives an idea of how far the shark traveled before getting dropped.
