Garden Grove barricaded suspect draws SWAT team

GARDEN GROVE, Calif.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies were assisting US Marshals in serving a warrant at the residence. The man then barricaded himself.

A Garden Grove Police SWAT team was handling the standoff.

Nearby, Meairs Elementary School was locked down as a safety precaution.

A spokesman said US Marshals were assisting Arizona authorities with serving an arrest warrant at a residence on the 13400 block of Wilson Avenue.

Authorities were concerned the man is armed. They said an unknown number of people were in the residence and were allowed to leave. More people may have remained in the residence.

According to the US Marshals, one person was taken into custody by about 6 p.m. No one was injured.

The suspect was identified as Cordell Dunsmore, 35. He peacefully surrendered, according to authorities. He was wanted in Pima, Arizona, on multiple fraud and weapons charges.
