OTRC: 'Cloud Atlas,' 'Fun Size,' 'Chasing Mavericks,' 'Silent Hill: Revelation 3D,' reviewed by Mr. Moviefone

Tom Hanks and Halle Berry appear in a scene from the 2012 film 'Cloud Atlas.' (Warner Bros. Pictures.)

This week at the movies, you can hang ten, get fun-sized or get lost in a world of cause and effect in "Cloud Atlas."

This three-hour movie follows characters as they reappear through space and time, and how all things are interconnected to shape our world. Starring are Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant and Jim Broadbent.

The Reel Deal: Critics will praise "Cloud Atlas," but at three hours, you'll feel like you've been dragged through space and time. I'm out.

Your dreams are your worst nightmare in "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D." Evil forces plunge a girl and her father into a demonic world that threatens to trap them forever.

The Reel Deal: It kinda looks like a "Nightmare on Elm Street" rip-off and since there was no screening for critics - my guess is the only revelation will be that you're $12 poorer! I'm out.

This Halloween is no treat in "Fun Size." A teenage girl is stuck watching her little brother instead of going to the hot guy's big party. And it gets even worse when lil' bro disappears and she has to enlist the help of the school geeks to find him.

The Reel Deal: Look, this is a tween comedy, and I'm a smidge beyond that, but "Fun-Size" is small on laughs, and you shouldn't have to pay a full-sized price for a fun-sized movie. I'm out.

It's time to hang ten in "Chasing Mavericks." It's based on the real life story of pro surfing champ Jay Moriarity as he trains to take on one of the biggest waves on Earth.

The Reel Deal: I didn't get a chance to see "Chasing Mavericks," but my movie posse tells me it's got some gnarly waves dude, so if you're a surf fan this might be worth checkin' out.
