"Glee" fans can rejoice ... a little bit. The Fox musical comedy has been on hiatus for a few weeks but several cast members are featured in a new sneak peek clip posted on the show's YouTube page which reveals that the New Directions will tackle viral video sensation Psy and his hit song "Gangnam Style."
"That's right, 'Glee' is going 'Gangnam Style,'" cast member Kevin McHale says in the clip, which can be viewed below. The video features brief clips of the cast practicing the dance and filming the sequence for what appears to be this season's Sectionals.
Jenna Ushkowitz is seen singing lead on some of the vocals for the song. The episode is expected to air toward the end of November. Meanwhile, the show will return from hiatus on Thursday, November 8 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
Psy's "Gangnam Style" has been parodied on "Saturday Night Live" and the song was used during a group dance on "Dancing With The Stars." The music video for the single broke a world record in September by becoming the most liked video on YouTube. At press time the video has over 607.5 million views.
Psy, a 34-year-old South Korean rapper whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, released "Gangnam Style" video on YouTube in mid-July. The rapper appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards, "Ellen," and "Today."
During his visit to "Ellen," Psy helped teach Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres to do the "Gangnam Style" dance, which involves trotting and some complicated foot movements.
