Eddie Murphy walked the red carpet at the taping of his Spike TV tribute event "Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" holding hands with his reported girlfriend Paige Butcher.
The 51-year-old comedian has reportedly been dating the 33-year-old Australian model and the two were first spotted together in September while dining in Los Angeles, according to Extra. Murphy was last linked to Tracey Edmonds, former wife of Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.
Murphy is currently producing a television series based on his "Beverly Hills Cop" movie franchise. The series will focus on the son of Murphy's character Axel Foley. The actor confirmed the news to Extra in an interview at the event.
"I'm producing 'Beverly Hills Cop' for CBS," Murphy said. "Axel Foley's son is going to be in Beverly Hills kicking up stuff."
The actor will reprise his movie role in the new pilot and he and Shawn Ryan, creator of the show "The Shield" and the new ABC series "Last Resort," will serve as executive producers, The Hollywood Reporter said in an earlier report on the series.
The industry paper also confirmed a previous report that said the project will indeed center on the younger Foley, who is himself a Beverly Hills policeman who wants to escape his legendary's father's shadow.
Filming for "Eddie Murphy: One Night Only" took place on November 4 and guests included Samuel L. Jackson, Adam Sandler, Jamie Foxx and Stevie Wonder. The tribute is set to air on November 14 on Spike TV.
Murphy received an Oscar nomination in 2006 for his role in "Dreamgirls." He's known for his roles in the "Shrek" films, "Dr. Doolittle," "Coming to America" and the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise. Murphy is also known for his comedy specials "Raw" and "Delirious" and first rose to fame as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1980 to 1984.
