Lindsay Lohan has a 17-year-old half-sister, Ashley, via her father, Michael Lohan, it was revealed on Thursday, November 15.
Michael, 52, appeared on an episode of NBC's "Trisha Goddard Show" that day, He sat on a sofa alongside the teenager and her mother, who are from Montana, as the results of a DNA paternity test were revealed.
The woman, Kristi Horn, had previously said she and Michael, 52, were involved in a sexual relationship while he was still married to Lindsay's mother, Dina. He had denied he was Ashley's father and refused to provide financial support, according to The New York Daily News.
On "The Trisha Goddard Show," Ashley stated that she did not want "to be a part of what they've called the Lohan train wreck," referring to Lindsay's legal problems and jail stints over the past few years. The actress, who has had a rocky relationship with her father, has not commented about the paternity case.
Kaufmann sobbed as her daughter read the DNA results, stunned. Michael tried to hug Ashley, who resisted and said: "This is the first time I've met you. I'm sorry but I'm not sure."
Michael and Dina also have four children together - Lindsay, 26, Michael, 24, Aliana, 18, and Dakota, 16. He is currently expecting a baby with girlfriend Kate Major.
Michael told the New York Daily News he plans to try to reach a child support settlement over Ashley.
"While I'm sorry it took so long, we finally got the answer, and I'm 100 precent happy with it," he said. "We're all okay with it and will deal with it in the best way we can. I'll never force it, but I certainly hope (my other kids) would want it. Kate has been fantastic. And Kristi and Ashley have said the same. They'd like to know the baby."
