Wet roads may have been a factor in a single-vehicle crash in Long Beach. Two people traveling in a pick-up truck struck a concrete pillar of a bridge. The two were killed and another person was hospitalized.
The California Highway Patrol said there were about 90 crashes in the Los Angeles Area on Saturday. Last Saturday there were 30.
Earlier, the rain started to come down about halfway through the USC-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl, sending fans running for cover. The last time it rained on the annual crosstown rivalry game was 1961.

"I'm not thrilled with it, but it's so rare I actually kind of look forward to it, the once every two years it rains here," said Los Angeles resident Todd Zino, who was caught in the rain while riding his bicycle.
The on-again, off-again rain was expected to continue through Sunday morning, mainly before 4 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Temps were expected to reach the high 60s in metro Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as the valleys and Inland Empire.
