Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte recently raised eyebrows over video footage showing them being driven from Los Angeles International Airport in an SUV with their baby daughter.
In an edited clip filmed by paparazzi agency Pacific Coast News and posted on TMZ, the "Frasier" star's wife is seen entering the vehicle while carrying the four-month old child, Faith, then sitting in the back with her daughter on her lap. Grammer later hands Kayte a cup and she is seen through the window sipping from it as she holds the child. California law states that children under age 8 must be secured in a car seat in the back seat.
Grammer's spokesperson said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com that "the video tape being circulated was edited and did not show that the Grammers leaving the airport with their baby securely in the baby car seat."
The couple also stirred some controversy in October when they brought baby Faith along to the annual Playboy Mansion Halloween Party, known for its display of naked Playmates and other scantily clad women. Grammer later explained that they were unable to find someone to watch 3-month-old Faith.
"Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us," Grammer said. "We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight."
Grammer is known for his longtime role of Dr. Frasier Crane on the shows "Cheers" and "Frasier." He recently starred in the Starz series "Boss," which was canceled earlier this month after two seasons.
