OTRC: Date with Betty White, 90, up for eBay auction

A date with Betty White is up for auction to the highest bidder for a good cause.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) announced on Thursday, November 29, that it is conducting an auction for a date with 90-year-old "Hot in Cleveland" star on eBay. The auction will begin on December 3 runs until December 10.

The winning bidder will be able to invite three guests to the dinner with White at one of her favorite restaurants. Proceeds from the auction go to the spcaLA and its programs and services, according to a statement from the organization. The auction is in honor of the spcaLA's 135th anniversary.

White has been a supporter of the spcaLA since 1949 and is a noted animal lover. She was honored at the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's 40th Annual Beastly Ball in June 2010 for her dedication to the organization for 40 years. She is also a co-chair of the organization.

In February she appeared in an ad with rocker Slash to promote one of the zoo's exhibits. In May. White went to Washington D.C. to the Smithsonian Institution and the museum's educational division to talk about her love of animals.

In June, White visited the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association's 42nd Annual Beastly Ball and spoke about her support of the zoo. White's interview from the ball can be seen below.
