3 arrested for vandalizing cars, Christmas decorations in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Lakewood Avenue around 1:30 a.m. after someone reported seeing a prowler in their driveway. The victim scared the prowler off, who fled in a car. The resident was able to give a description of the suspect's getaway car to police.

The car was later spotted in the 7500 block of Loma Vista Road after police responded to reports of rocks being thrown at parked cars from a vehicle. Officers stopped the car for an investigation and determined the three people inside the car, John Peters, Roy Milbrandt and Trevor Bright, had been driving around the east end of Ventura throwing rocks at parked vehicles and vandalizing Christmas lights and decorations that were displayed in front yards. The three were booked into Ventura County Jail for vandalism.

There were a total of five vandalism victims, but police believe there may be more. Anyone with information related to this crime should call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4343, or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
