An aspiring firefighter was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Reseda as he was crossing the street.

Thomas Price, 22, was struck around 2:15 a.m. Sunday at Reseda Boulevard and Bessemer Street. The driver took off and remains at large. Price's mother says he was her only child and her best friend.

"Please come forward and turn yourself in. Please do the right thing for my family's peace," April Price said. "We really need to get some closure in this, because Tommy would have liked it that way. He would have wanted everybody to do the right thing."

Authorities believe the car involved was a 1997 or 1998 grey Chevy Tahoe with a four-inch lift kit and dark rims. Anyone with information was asked to call police at (818) 644-8020.
