Fudge is Chatsworth family's 43-year-old tradition

CHATSWORTH, Calif.

The fudge making is a tradition that began 43 years ago when John Beard launched his G2 Graphics company, was low on funds for holiday gifts and asked his wife, Ruth, to make up some of her famous fudge for his customers.

Each year, four generations of Beards and G2 employees join in making up the tasty treats, using 750 pounds of sugar, 360 pounds of chocolate, 180 pounds of chocolate chips and 180 pounds of butter.

"It's just the whole idea of being able to give the client something that they can't get you know anywhere else in the world," said Beard.
