Authorities in Garden Grove are hoping the public can help them find a brazen robber caught on tape robbing a gas station.

The holdup occurred inside a Chevron gas station located at 12681 Magnolia Street around 11:05 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect walked into the gas station with a semi-automatic handgun and ordered the gas station clerk to quickly open the cash register. Once the man did as he was ordered, the suspect removed about $2,000 in cash.

Surveillance video then shows the suspect ordering the gas station employee to the floor with the handgun before fleeing the scene on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male, standing around 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, a blue and black plaid short sleeve T-shirt, blue jeans, light-colored gloves and a bandana over his face.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or robbery was urged to contact Garden Grove police at (714) 741-5704.
