Luke Bryan, a 36-year-old country singer from Tennessee, swept the 2012 American Country Awards walking away with an award in every nominated category.

The 47th annual ACAs aired live on FOX on Monday, December 10 at 8 p.m. ET from the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, and Bryan wasn't the only winner, with Carrie Underwood nabbing the Female Artist of the Year award and Lady Antebellum taking home two guitar trophies.

The nominations were announced on October 10 and Bryan's 2011 album "Tailgates & Tanlines" helped him lead the pack of nominations with seven total nods. Lady Antebellum and Zac Brown Band followed Bryan's lead with six nominations each. Taylor Swift was also among the top nominees, garnering five total nods along with Eric Church.

This year's event featured a newly added category, "Song of the Year," which paid tribute to not only country's top performers, but top songwriters as well. The nominees were determined by the Professional Songwriting Division of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
