Channing Tatum and his wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, are expecting their first child.
A spokesperson for the actor confirmed the news to ABCNews.com on December 17. In a statement to People magazine spokespeople for the couple said they "are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year."
This will be the first child for both Tatum and Dewan-Tatum, who wed in 2009. The two met on the set of "Step-Up" in 2006. The 32-year-old actor was recently dubbed "Sexiest Man Alive" by People magazine earlier this year.
After "Step Up," Tatum went on to star in the film's 2008 sequel, "Step Up 2: The Streets," as well as in movies such as "Stop-Loss," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," "Dear John" and the big-screen adaptation of the 1980s series "21 Jump Street" before nabbing his role as a stripper in "Magic Mike." The movie, which also stars Matthew McConaughey, has made over $201 million since it was released on June 29.
The actor is set to appear in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "Side Effects," "White House Down" and "Foxcatcher" in the coming year. The actor is also rumored to be taking part in sequels to his hit 2012 films "Magic Mike" and "21 Jump Street."
Dewan-Tatum, 32, has starred in several film and TV series like "10 Years," "The Playboy Club," "Melrose Place" and had several recent appearances on "American Horror Story: Asylum."
