A memorial ceremony for late Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.
NOTE: This event is over. Check out details about the memorial ceremony.
Rivera, a Long Beach, California native, had released albums in the Banda and Nortena music genres and was also known for her Mun 2 television series, "I Love Jenni," which debuted in 2011. The 43-year-old singer died in a plane crash in Mexico on December 9.
Her remains were returned to California last week after her family members flew to the country and identified them. The banda singer is survived by five children and two grandchildren.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation, in addition to a single white rose. Rivera's loved ones say the singer will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
